AIGA Houston invites you to a collage workshop where you’ll create original, nonpartisan posters to encourage civic participation. In partnership with the League of Women Voters, this initiative uses design to inspire engagement in local, state, and national elections.
AIGA Design for Democracy and the League of Women Voters are working to get out the vote for this year’s midterm elections. Design for Democracy is based on the premise that good design makes your choices clear.
The collage workshop is open to all! Ages 16 +
You don’t need to be an artist, a creative, or a designer—just bring your passion and drive to make a difference! Flex your voice and creativity and turn your passion for civic participation into real impact!
AIGA members will have the option to scan their posters and upload the digital version to the aiga.org Creative Commons gallery, helping educate and promote participation in shaping who represents us in the governor's office and our state and national legislatures.
You must be an AIGA member to submit your poster to the Creative Commons gallery. GOTV posters designed by AIGA members are available for printing and public distribution by all.

Program
2:00 – 2:30 pm: Arrive and pickup supplies
2:30 – 2:40 pm: Introduction to GOTV campaign
2:40 – 3:30 pm: Collage instructions and Poster-making
3:30 – 4:00 pm: Wrap up poster-making and break-down
Tickets: $10
Your ticket will help us cover the cost of materials and the instructor's honorarium. Depending on availability, at-the-door tickets may be available for purchase. Purchases must be made with card only. No cash will be accepted.
Coffee and refreshments are avialble for purchase at the Little Dreamers Coffee next to Art League Houston
Parking
Parking is free on the street. Please allow yourself ample time to arrive, park and walk over the Art League building before 2 p.m.
